Recent improvements and new features on Purrlyne.

  1. September 8, 2026
    • New: you can now change your account email from Settings — confirm your current password, then enter the code sent to your new address.
    • Improved: Settings is now split into Profile, Security, Preferences, Subscription, and Badges instead of one long page.

    • Fixed: the profile Quick Edit popup could pop back open on its own after switching pages or coming back to the app.

    • Fixed: closed a gap that could let someone end up with two separate accounts on the same email.
    • Fixed: saved browser passwords no longer flash bright white in the login/sign-up fields.
    • Fixed: reopening the app could land you on your profile settings instead of the homepage.
    • Fixed: the "start a match" screen could need scrolling to see the Start button.
    • Improved: a broken or missing link now shows a proper Purrlyne page instead of a blank error screen.
    • Removed: the EN/FR language toggle — Purrlyne is English-only for now.
    • Removed: the Share button on the badge-unlock celebration — a quick "Nice!" now dismisses it.
    • Improved: added extra protection against abusive content in public rooms.
    • Improved: opening a chat now shows a smoother loading screen instead of a plain "Loading..." text.
    • Improved: the app's status bar now matches the dark theme instead of showing a mismatched light bar.
    • Improved: the start-a-match screen looks more finished on phones instead of mostly empty space.
    • New: matching now shows a quick "you both picked X" moment when you and your match (or a room participant) share an interest.
    • New: reconnecting after a dropped connection in Rooms or DMs now tells you what you missed instead of quietly catching up.
    • New: sending and receiving messages now has its own small motion, distinct from other animations.
    • New: on phones, swipe a message to react, swipe the chat header to skip to someone new, and swipe anywhere on the screen to switch between Chat/Rooms/Contacts.
    • Improved: small text (like unread badges) now respects your phone's text size setting instead of staying a fixed size.
    • New: message bubbles, profile cards, and the match-start screen now have a subtle frosted-glass look.
    • Improved: the match screen no longer shows locked Premium filters up front if you can't use any of them yet — tap to see what's available instead.
    • New: editing your profile (quick edit or full Settings) now warns you before you lose unsaved changes.
    • Improved: Settings now shows your email address partially hidden instead of in full.
    • Fixed: switching accounts in the same browser tab could leave your online status stuck on "offline" everywhere (rooms, DMs, contacts) until a full page reload.

    • New: pin a contact to the top of your contacts list.
    • New: your browser tab shows an unread-message count, even when Purrlyne isn't the active tab.
    • New: a quick recap (how long you chatted, how many messages) when a conversation ends.
    • Fixed: an issue that could occasionally get in the way of finishing sign-up.
    • Fixed: blocking someone now also removes them from your contacts and stops new requests between you.
    • Fixed: you no longer get a "leave conversation?" warning after the other person has already left.
    • Fixed: appearing offline in public rooms while actually online.
